By ordinance, the investigations and considerations by the Board of Ethics of potential violations of the Ethics Ordinance are confidential. County Code, § 2-592. As a matter of policy, the Board also maintains as confidential the identity of the requestors of advisory opinions. Board of Ethics Rules & Regulations, § 4.10. The Board, however, is undertaking to make its final determinations available to the public with such deletions as may be necessary to prevent disclosure of any information the Board determines to be confidential.

This data is compiled by the Cook County Department of Public Health using data from the Illinois Department of Public Health Vital Statistics. It includes the annual number of live births, and birth related outcomes and characteristics. Further analysis is available by birth mother's age group, race/ethnicity, and place/district of residence for all births in suburban Cook County. Also included is data related to infant mortality. Annual Tax Sale: A yearly auction of delinquent taxes where a tax buyer (purchaser) pays the delinquent taxes due on a parcel. This results in a lien on the property. The property owner must repay the tax buyer with interest for the amount of the sale – this is known as “redemption.” If redemption does not occur within a set time period, the tax buyer can obtain legal title to the property – this is referred to as a “tax deed.”
